Six Feet Under & Dead Poets

A week ago I was watching Six Feet Under, one of the most kick-ass shows on TV, and an eerie thing happened. They always begin the show with some anonymous extra dying and then the main characters get to do the funeral. This last time, the anonymous person was a suicide and her first name was the same as mine and her year of birth was the same as mine. Creepy.

On a lighter note, I read in the Guardian UK today that Oscar Wilde's life apparently wasn't as awful as the Stephen Fry flick, Wilde, would have us believe. One of Wilde's decendants is debunking the grief.

So Wilde didn't die alone, penniless and sick in a Paris slum? Hmmm, thought that was all writer's fates.
